Do I need a ticket for the Watermelon Festival or just the Rock the Rind event?
A ticket is only required to access the Rock the Rind event. You will be able to enjoy all the Watermelon Festival events and vendors without a ticket.... but you're going to want a ticket for entertainment!

Will Chairs be Permitted within the event?
YES! This is a standing room/general admission event. We highly encourage you to bring a chair. Chairs will not be permitted in the PIT section & Lawn chairs with shade canopies are not permitted under any circumstance.

Are coolers and outside food/beverages permitted within the venue?
Per our Indiana excise permit, no outside *alcoholic beverages* or coolers are permitted within the venue. You will be permitted to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages within the ticketed area. Feel free to grab some grub from one of our many food vendors and pop back in for the show!

Will Re-entry be permitted to the ticketed event?
Yes! We have a long weekend of "rind-rocking" music lined up. You will be free to come and go as you please (with a wristband) and enjoy the wide variety of events and vendors packing the Courthouse Square.

What's the policy on bags?

Bags & purses less than 12" x 12" are permitted in the venue. any bag exceeding 12" x 12" MUST BE CLEAR. All bags are subject to search by a member of the rock the rind staff.

Are Pets allowed?

Do Children require a ticket?
Children under the age of 6 do not require a ticket to Rock the Rind.

How are you going to keep people from enjoying the concert outside the ticketed area?
Feel free! Like any event, the experience is always better on the inside and views will be obstructed outside the designated ticketed area. Per Excise approval, alcohol will only be permitted within the ticketed area. We made it a priority to keep tickets affordable and hope you join us inside the designated area for a much more enjoyable experience!

Where in the world is everyone going to park?!
Great Question! A parking place in Brownstown will be a hot commodity the first weekend in August. While public & street parking will be available downtown we have partnered with local businesses to designate large lots for free parking, festival weekend. In addition, we will be providing a shuttle service from the fairgrounds lot, just East of the County jail. Although parking is limited around the courthouse square, we promise it'll be worth the walk!
